The Top Seven Reasons to Invest in eRecruitment in 2007 |
|
1. Dynamic U.S. Demographics: The United States will have the highest number of high school graduates in 2009. After that, the number of U.S. high school graduates will decline for the next 30 years. Source: http://www.stamats.com/
2. Boom in U.S. Study Abroad: Abundant opportunities for domestic students is certainly a positive development... but presents interesting challenges for number-crunching enrollment managers. Source: http://opendoors.iienetwork.org/
3. Boom in Global Student Mobility: In 2006, UNESCO estimated that more than 2.5 million students were being educated at the tertiary level in countries other than their home countries, up from an estimated 1.7 million in 2000. A report from IDP Education Australia predicted that by 2025, almost eight million students will be educated transnationally. Source: http://atlas.iienetwork.org/
4. Online Affluency Filter: More than one billion of the world's wealthiest people rely on the Internet. That's a lot of zeros, but still represents only about 16.7 percent of the Earth's population. But that filter won't last forever: Experts anticipate that the Internet's second billion users will come online by 2015. Source: http://www.useit.com/
5. More on Filters: The people of Generation X and Generation Y crave... a filter they can trust to edit the morass of products and information out there. -- Harvard Business Review, September 2006, quoting Lisa Johnson's Mind Your Xs and Ys. http://www.usjournal.com/ serves as that filter, as we are not a comprehensive listing, but rather an exclusive listing of U.S. campuses wishing to welcome non-U.S. students.
6. usjournal.com Multi-lingual Capabilities: This pie chart speaks volumes about the dynamic multi-lingual nature of the 'Net: http://www.usjournal.com/en/educators/erecruit/06pie3dN419x425W.jpg. usjournal.com can serve as your provider of professional translations, guaranteed for accuracy, in 14 popular online languages. 7. usjournal.com Industry-wide Affiliations: It's nearly impossible to quantify the value of relationships with respected colleagues. Still, those relationships are critical to the continued success of usjournal.com, as we enter our 11th year online. Case in point: http://www.usjournal.com/en/students/info/fairs.html

Over-communication may indeed harm relationships with prospective students:
Many organizations may be actively damaging their customer relationships in attempts to make sure that no opportunity for a sale is missed. The corollary: A careful reduction in communication would lead not only to lower costs, but to an increase in revenues per customer. Give customers more of what they truly want, and less of what they don't. Source: Harvard Business Review, March 2006: Knowing What to Sell, When, and to Whom.
